My Day - Sunday 14th Oct

My day was centered on the FOBBS Bonsai talent contest final - held at Capel Manor bonsai show.

This post is picture based and are a few from the day. The contest was 3 hours  long and the winner is going on to represent the UK in the European final

The tree.........I'm happy !

I'm still looking.........the tree is in there, I'm not rushing until i find it............

Three hours flew by, but a few little tweaks and we came in on time.

And I managed to win..............Here is the tree as it was styled in the 3 hours

Thanks to all involved (I kept plenty of green bits :-) )

Slipped into an Erin Pot, little bit of moss and 10 minutes more tweaking

    1. Hi Peter,
cheers, 3 hours flies by!!! especially when i was using your excelent willowbog 0.8mm copper wire to do the fine foliage - closest thing to invisible wiring you can get. I think Team Willowbog could take the European stage by storm - Tap up PW and do joint logo'd hoodies. I heard everyone in the big Final needs a coach at the back of the room pointing at the bits to cut off too - the willowboggers possy haha.

  4. Nice one Marcus, now you get to go and represent on the european stage. I think a Team Marcus T-Shirt is necessary with the slogan "I keep plenty of green bits"

    1. haha, cheers my m8.

Yes,green bits are very good, I'm thinking team Willowbog/saruyama T shirts and Hoodies could be the fashion statement to outshine the Italians ? !!

    2. looking at Sauyama and myself , I doubt if combined or apart we could make a fashion statement to outshine the tramp at the end of our road !

it is a juniper chinensis - chinese juniper or shimpaku.

They were field grown and partly trained in korea.
